According to the data released by National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China produced 302,000 tons of pesticide in Mar, up 0.6% year-on-year. The volume of pesticide production in the first quarter grew 5.9% to 870,000 tons.

Fungicide production led the growing trend by increasing 15.9% to 18,000 tons in Mar. Herbicide production slightly grew 0.2% but insecticide decreased 2.3% to 57,000 tons.

This quarter, China produced a total of 45,000 tons of fungicide, increasing by 20.7% and consisted 5.2% of total pesticide production. Insecticide production grew 14.5% to 168,000 tons and made up 19.3% of the total. Herbicide was the largest portion with production up 6.3% reaching 432,000 tons.

Jiangsu,Shandong, Zhejiang produced the most agchems in the quarter with production volume of 88,400, 66,300 and 27,700 tons respectively.
