On January 7 2014, China ICAMA released a notice on its website detailing the procedures for revoking pesticide registration on certain products, which were banned or restricted under “MoA’s Announcement 2032” (seeChemlinked news on 13 Dec 2013).
- ICAMA urged its provincial subordinates that all registration certificate of chlorsulfuron, asomate and urbacide associated products, as well as single formulated products of metusulfuron-methyl and ethametsulfuron should be withdrawn from the registrants and sent to ICAMA by January 15 2014;
- All registrants of metsulfuron-methyl and ethametsulfuron technical materials and combinations should submit their registration certificate to ICAMA for formal alteration. The expiry dates of these registrations will be extended to July 1 2015;
- Maintenance of registration of metsulfuron-methyl single substance formulation destined for export is achieved through submission of the original copies of registration certificates and exporting contract to ICAMA for formal alteration by January 31 2014, while the registrants of metsulfuron-methyl technical materials and combinations should complete the alteration by July 1 2015;
- The Registration certification of chlorpyrifos and tiazophos for vegetables should be withdrawn from registrants and sent to ICAMA by December 31 2014. ICAMA will cancel vegetables from the permitted scope of applications of these pesticides.
