According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, pesticides import volume in June increased by 42% to 8 thousand tones, with import value up by 34.3% to $61.2 million. Pesticide export volume in June dropped slightly by 0.9% to 104 thousand tones, however, the export value increased by 9.8% to $387 million.

For the first six months, pesticide import volume increased by 20.9% to 51 thousand tones, with value grew by 9.5% to $450 million. The export volume rose by 10.5% to 669 thousand tones, with value grew by 20.1% to $2,366 million.

Import specifics

Fungicide is the largest category in June’s pesticide import, both in volume(3000 tones) and value($30.1 million). Herbicide import saw a rapid increase of 59.5% to 2000 tonnes, however, import value decreased by 15% to $6.6 million. Insecticide import was 1000 tonnes with a 53.5% increase, and valued at $ 14.5 million with a increase of 59.9%.
 
During the first six months of 2014, fungicide’s import increased by 17.2% and 10.8% in terms of volume and value. Import volume of insecticide was 7000 tonnes (up 15.5%) and value was $110 million (up 3.5%). Herbicide import volume increased by 21.4% to 17,000 tonnes, with value up by 9.3% to $103.1 million.  

Export specifics

In June, herbicide is the largest category, with volume of 70,000 tones and value of $228.6 million. The export volume of insecticide declined by 5.5% to 24,000 tones. For fungicide, the volume rose by 19.2% to 7000 tones, value grew by 18.7% to $37.1 million.

During the first six months of 2014, the export of herbicides saw a double-digital growth, up 12.6% and 23% in terms of volume and value respectively. Insecticide export volume amount to 123,000 tones and value to $531.3 million. The export of fungicide remained as the short board, with volume increased by 4% to 38,000 tones and value by 8.1% to $210.3 million.
